Inauguration of NDE 2016
The seminar was inaugurated in a grand function held at Al SAJ Convention Center at 9:00 AM on 15.12.2016. The function was presided over by Shri DJ Varde, President ISNT. Shri G Levin, Chairman, Organising Committee welcomed the gathering and Shri S Saratchandran, Co-Chairman, Organising Committee introduced the theme of the seminar. Shri A.S Kiran Kumar, Chairman, ISRO/Secretary, Department of Space inaugurated the seminar through live video address from NRSC, Hyderabad.

Keynote address was delivered by Dr. K. Sivan, Director, VSSC. Shri M.C. Dathan, Scientific Advisor to Chief Minister of Kerala & Former Director, VSSC released the souvenir & proceedings and offered felicitations. Shri Rajul R Parikh, Honorary Secretary offered felicitations.The NDT national awards 2016 were distributed at the function. Shri K R Mohan Ananthanarayanan, Convener, NDE 2016 proposed vote of thanks.

NATIONAL SEMINAR NDE 2003, KOVALAM
SNT Thiruvananthapuram Chapter organised the National Seminar NDE 2003 and Industrial Exhibition at Rajiv Gandhi Convention Centre, Kovalam, the world-renowned tourist spot, during December 09-13, 2003. The 3 day seminar was preceded by two Days Pre-Conference tutorial. The Seminar NDE2003, which focused on the need to integrate the NDE activities with a systematic approach with the theme Visualise, Evolve, Evaluate and Execute "V3E" had tremendous impact among the NDT community of the country".

The NDE 2003 was inaugurated by Sri R.V. Perumal, Director (projects), VSSC. The inaugural function was presided over by Sri D.M.Mehta, President, ISNT. Prof. Michael Kroening, Director, Fraunhofer Institute released the Proceedings for NDT (IZPF) and Sri A.Sreenivasulu, Past President ISNT, released the souvenir. The industrial exhibition was inaugurated by Sri K.Balarama Moorthy, Chairman, NCB. During the inaugural function, Sri S.Alwan, Chairman, Inauguration Committee, made a special presentation on the silver jubilee celebration of ISNT Trivandrum Chapter. Dr Baldev Raj, Director MCRG, IGCAR delivered the Keynote address. Dr V.R.Ravindran, General Convener, NDE2003 delivered the vote of thanks. During the inaugural function a special ceremony on presentation of honours and awards was conducted by Sri.Pari, Honourary Secretary, ISNT.

More than 500 delegates from various institutions in the country and abroad attended the Seminar. Delegates from countries like, USA, France, Ukraine, Germany, Israel, etc. were participated and that created an international flavor to the event. The Proceedings of the conference and a Souvenir were released in the inaugural function. A profile of ISNT Trivandrum Chapter was also published to commemorate the 25th year of the formation of Thiruvananthapuram Chapter.
NDE 1998, Thiruvananthapuram
National Seminar NDE-98 was organized by the Chapter during Dec 05-07, 1998 at Technopark Thiruvananthapuram having the inspiring natural ambience of hills and valleys. The theme of the seminar was "Nondestructive Evaluation - the Indian Scenario and Challenges Ahead". Around 300 delegates attended the seminar and had 85 contributed papers spread over 12 technical sessions and a special session. There were 8 invited talks and 2 plenary sessions. NDE 1998 was inaugurated by Sri G Madhavan Nair, Director VSSC (the present Chairman of DOS) in an excellent ambience of nature and leading experts in the filed of nondestructive testing. An array of dignitaries from all over India and abroad attended the inaugural function. An exhibition displaying the latest NDT equipments and consumables was also arranged along with the seminar. A Souvenir, book of abstracts and Proceedings were released during the seminar.
Technical papers
There was overwhelming response for presentation of technical papers in the Seminar and altogether 114 papers were received from authors all over the country and abroad. The technical sessions were arranged as plenary talks, invited talks and contributed paper presentations. The technical sessions were held in three parallel Sessions to include all the papers for oral presentation. Eminent scientists from abroad, including Dr. Ward Rummel, Prof. Kroening, Dr. Dobmann, Dr. Salahudin Ahmed, and Dr. Garry Passi, delivered the two Plenary Sessions consisting of six lectures. Three structured special sessions on Thermal Imaging, Acoustic emission and Neutron radiography were also organized.
Industrial Exhibition
The 3 day Seminar had an added attraction of an Industrial exhibition to provide glimpses of the state-of the art- NDT tools and equipments, the back bone of the NDT technology. There was overwhelming response from the NDT community and all the 40 stalls provided at the venue were booked in advance by the various industries in the field.
