Achievements
ISNT National Young NDT Scientist Award 2022- Awarded to Dr. Girish N Namboodiri, NDTF/RPP/VSSC for his significant contributions in the field of NDE. The Award was presented in the inaugural session of NDE 2022 National Seminar and Exhibition held at Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat in November 2022.
ISNT NDT Systems Innovation and Development Award 2022- Awarded to Dr. Digendranath Swain, EXMD/VSSC for his significant contributions in the field of NDE. The Award was presented in the inaugural session of NDE 2022 National Seminar and Exhibition held at Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat in November 2022.
ISNT Young Engineer Award 2019 of Trivandrum Chapter was presented to Shri. Binu B, VSSC, for the significant contributions made by him in the field of Acoustic Emission NDE for launch vehicle components at various ISRO centers and work centers.
Dr. V.R-Ravindran-ISNT Endowment Life Time Achievement Award in 2019 was presented to Shri. Bhaumik B.C., one of the founder members of our Chapter and former Vice president of ISNT for his significant contributions to NDE at VSSC & ISNT society.
Chapter Vice Chairman, Shri. M Arumugam received ISRO team excellence
award from Chairman, ISRO in 2018. Also chapter EC members Shri. S Saratchandran, GD, QRPG, VSSC and Shri. M Arumugam, Group Director, QCNG, LPSC were nominated as members from ISRO/DOS to Non-Destructive Sectional Committee, MTD 21 of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). ISNT congratulates both for the remarkable achievements.

Entity, VSSC has been awarded the “ISNT National NDT Award” under the category of NDT Systems Innovation & Development jointly sponsored by ISNT & M/s. NDTS India (P) Limited, Navi Mumbai for the year 2017. The award was given away by the Honorable Governor of Tamil Nadu, Shri. Banwarilal Purohit at the inaugural function of NDE 2017 on 14.12.2017 at “The Chennai Trade Centre”, Chennai.
ISNT-NDTS award for “Excellence in contribution to NDT Systems innovation & development-National NDT Award” was awarded to Shri Cherian Thomas
for his contribution in the establishment of Neutron Radiography facility at VSSC. It was presented at the inaugural function of NDE 2016-National Conference and International Exhibition held at Al Saj Convention Centre, Trivandrum from 15-17, Dec 2016.
ISNT Trivandrum chapter won the prestigious “ISNT-PULSECHO” BEST CHAPTER AWARD for the year 2016 and it was presented at the inaugural function of NDE 2016-National Conference and International Exhibition held at Al Saj Convention Centre, Trivandrum from 15-17, Dec 2016. This is third time our chapter is receiving this honor after 2002 & 2012. We thank all chapter members who made this possible.
The chapter’s former chairman and senior member Shri S.Saratchandran, VSSC was awarded the “Honorary Fellow” of ISNT for the year 2016. This is in recognition of his significant contributions in the field of NDT in space and to the society.
National Level Achievements
- Sri Binu P. Thomas of this chapter received the 'National NDT Award 2012 for Best Innovation in NDT system development.
- NDE1998 and NDE2003 organised by the Chapter at Thiruvananthapuram.
- Received Best Chapter Award in the year 2002
The Thiruvananthapuram Chapter won the best chapter award for the year 2002. The best chapter ward was presented to the chapter on 5th December 2003 at a glittering function in Chennai on the occasion of the inauguration of NDE-2002 seminar organized by ISNT. The award was presented by the honorable Governor of Tamilnadu, Sri Ram Mohan Rao. - National R&D Award in NDT for the year 2003 was received by Dr. V.R. Ravindran of this Chapter.
- Digital Radiography Working Group India (DRWGI) was formed at National Level by ISNT mainly due to the efforts of Thiruvananthapuram Chapter. This Chapter is the leading centre for DRWGI activities.
