ISNT THIRUVANANTHAPURAM CHAPTER

The Thiruvananthapuram chapter of ISNT was started as Trivandrum Section of Nondestructive Testing Society of India (NDTSI) on September 21, 1978, by the efforts of a small group of scientists and engineers of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre. Trivandrum Section of NDTSI was actively involved in the development of NDT technology.

In the early nineties, the two leading professional bodies in the area of nondestructive testing namely NDTSI and Indian Institute of Nondestructive Inspection Engineering IINDIE, merged together to form a single professional body named ISNT and this Section has transformed into the present Thiruvananthapuram Chapter of ISNT.

National Level Achievements

• National Seminars NDE1998 organised by the Chapter at Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram.


• National Seminars NDE2003 organised by the Chapter at Kovalam, Thiruvananthapuram.


• Received Best Chapter Award in the year 2002.


• National R&D award in NDT for the year 2003 was received by Dr. V.R. Ravindran of this Chapter.


• Digital Radiography Working Group India (DRWGI):
    The National Level working group DRWGI formed by NGC with the efforts of Thiruvananthapuram Chapter. This Chapter is the leading centre for all activities.
